FORMER Lancaster-based band Beat the Radar recently signed a two-album record deal with a Manchester indie label.
Beat the Radar, comprising ex-Lancaster University students, signed the deal with Akoustik Anarkhy – also home to barmy New Yorker Thomas Truax.

The deal will also mean plenty of exposure and a packed UK gigging schedule for the four-piece, who recently welcomed new drummer Adam Featherstone.

"We are all really excited about this opportunity," said singer Jonny Swift. "It means we get to do what we've always wanted – record and release a full-length album on a national/international scale, and get our music out to the world."
