After Dark presents Scary School Spooktacular, The Grand Theatre, Lancaster
AFTER pretty much slating their production of 'Safe', I really, really wanted to enjoy After Dark's latest show.

I wasn't disappointed.

Despite 'Scary School Spooktacular' being largely geared towards kids, writer Ben Muir and co pulled out all
the stops to deliver a great show for everyone.

In After Dark's third annual Hallowe'en show, the colourful cast called on the audience to help defeat a deadly set of alien invaders who threatened to take over the world. Scary stuff.

Cue mass audience participation as hordes of kids screamed and shouted the heroes to success – just in time for Neon High's Hallowe'en ball.

Music, mayhem and mystery were promised and that's what we got. There was comedy from the word go, with a hugely comical fight scene towards the end.

Top performances came from all involved; Adrian Burrows as the lovable Wolfman had the excitable crowd in stitches throughout, the highlight being his hugely hilarious rendition of Lulu's 'Shout'.

Another great performance from After Dark regular Lee Cooper as the bumbling schoolboy Zac – but a big thumbs up to all involved for keeping the kids engaged for two hours.

With matinee performance tickets at just two quid each, the crowd at The Grand definitely got excellent value for money.
