We'll show you our plans

I would like to respond on behalf of Coastal Medical Group to Coun Ron Sands' letter, November 12 in the Visitor asking 'why relocate Yorkshire Street Pharmacy?'
We would just like to clarify the issues raised by Coun Sands regarding his concerns re the chronic overcrowding and the petition. The Partners are disappointed that Coun Sands did not contact the surgery directly to highlight his concerns but can reassure him that the reception area is to be redeveloped to expand, improve and enhance both his, and all our patients' experience when they visit the surgery. We would be happy to show him the plans to put his mind at rest.
Regarding the petition that Coun Ron Sands refers to. This was not, as he states, to support the closure of the pharmacy on Yorkshire Street, but to gauge our own patients' views and support for the convenient relocation of this pharmacy to the West End Site.
We were pleased to learn from Coun Sands that the pharmacy next door is to extend their own opening times to match the extended hours of the surgery. This is in the interests of all patients in the area.
