THANKS all of you who contacted me last week to let me know that the picture we showed of a band marching past a road end was, in fact, taken at Bare Lane.
It was taken from the front grounds of what is now the Bare Village Club and the building whose gable end we saw is at the junction of Bare Lane and Hest Bank Road.

We're still not sure precisely which band was featured but one or two of you think it may have been on the occasion of the end of World War One.

Now have a look at this picture – another from Terry O'Connor.

Again we're pretty sure it is a local scene but can you tell us where?
