LAUNCHING the new outlet, Visitor editor Glen Cooper said: "We had an approach from directors at Morecambe Football Club who had been looking for premises in the centre of town for a while.
"Of course we were happy to help out. We get a lot of passing interest from people coming into town to visit the Arndale Centre and the post office next door so ours is an ideal location for the club to use on weekdays.

"The club shop at Christie Park will still operate as normal. This is an additional outlet which, we hope, will be used by people who can't get down to the ground quite so easily.

"Mums, dads and grandparents might just see something they can buy for family members as they are passing – all of which helps the club to generate more crucial income.

"The recent success of Morecambe FC has been the biggest story we've covered in the last few years and people look to us first for all their Shrimps news – so for us this is a natural partnership and a relationship we are proud to reinforce in this way."
